Mission

The Technology Research Center is responsible for turning vaccine candidates developed at the Innovative Vaccine Research and Development Center into market-ready products as quickly as possible. Based on scientific principles, we develop manufacturing processes and analytical methods while designing and ensuring produce quality. We also support the stable supply of vaccine with consistent quality after launch.
The Technology Research Center oversees the full range of technical development across the BIKEN Group, from new vaccine development, through launch of commercial production to post-launch optimization and supply stability.

Vaccine candidates passed on to the Technology Research Center undergo industrialization research at the Seto Center, with the aim of bringing them to market. Manufacturing processes and analytical methods are developed to support scale-up, sometimes by several hundred- to several thousand-fold.
The Seto Center also serves as a BIKEN Group production site. By bringing laboratory research and commercial manufacturing together at a single location, we aim to accelerate the transition from research to market-ready products.
