BIKEN-RIMD NGS laboratory Receives CAP Accreditation

BIKEN-RIMD NGS laboratory has received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), a global standard for quality management in clinical laboratory testing.

The Iaboratory provides research support aimed at the practical implementation of novel genomic analysis technologies. It is also working to establish a clinical testing framework to participate in genomic medicine.

The CAP accreditation is a globally recognized accreditation program for clinical laboratory operations, with stringent and extensive evaluation criteria covering the entire clinical testing process, accuracy standards, and other aspects of quality.

Achieving CAP accreditation demonstrates that our laboratory has a clinical laboratory system that meets international standards, helping us establish a robust framework for highly accurate and consistent genomic analyses.

The College of American Pathologists (CAP) is a global laboratory accreditation organization. To date, more than 7,600 laboratories in over 100 countries have received CAP accreditation. It also provides an International Laboratory Proficiency Testing Program, an external quality assessment program for clinical laboratories worldwide.
